Lumír Kroček

(uváděno i Lubomír). Narodil se 16. prosince 1910 v Ostravě-Muglinově. Absolvoval právnickou fakultu Univerzity Karlovy a působil jako soudce. Za druhé světové války vězněn. V červnu 1945 vstoupil do KSČ. V listopadu 1948 postaven do čela V. sektoru (vyšetřování) skupiny BAa. O vyšetřování se prý moc nestaral a přenechával ho svým zástupcům B. Doubkovi a M. Moučkovi, věnoval se spíše organizační stránce práce. Situaci v problematice ovšem přirozeně znal a o nezákonnostech páchaných svými podřízenými věděl. Od ledna 1951 do února 1952 vedl nově vytvořený vězeňský odbor MNB. V březnu 1952 požádal o přeložení k MNO, v červenci téhož roku mu bylo vyhověno. Zemřel v roce 1995.

(also known as Lubomír). He was born on 16 December 1910 in Ostrava-Muglinova. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University and worked as a judge. During World War II, he was imprisoned. In June 1945 he joined the Communist Party and from August 1945 he was Secretary of the Security Department of the Ostrava branch of the National Committee. From May 1947, he was the head of the State Office of the StB in Ostrava. In August 1948 he was transferred to the Ministry of the Interior in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In November 1948, he was tapped to head the Fifth Sector (investigation) of the BAa group. He did not care much about investigation and left it to his deputies B. Doubek and M. Mouček, devoting himself more to the organisational aspects of the work. However, he naturally knew the situation in the matter and knew of the offences committed by his subordinates. From January 1951 to February 1952, he headed the newly formed Prison Division of the Ministry of National Security. In March 1952 he requested a transfer to the Ministry of National Defence, which he received in July of that year. He died in 1995.
