Legal residentura Istanbul

The residentura in Istanbul focused on obtaining information about American and NATO facilities. It also used the territory of Turkey to train Directorate I servicemen for work in countries with difficult operative situations. The Intelligence Service worked in Turkey for a long time and was in close contact with the Soviet residentura. In 1956 the Resident was Lieutenant Vojtěch Lasovský "Linek" (vice-consul). The last operative agent posted here was Major PaeDr. Jan Pavlíček "Vajner"in 1989.
