legalisation

Hidden affiliation to the intelligence service and intelligence activities performed by a member of the intelligence service in their official function within a suitable organisation or institution outside the purview of the Ministry of the Interior. Legalisation was an inseparable part of conspiracy. Workers of the intelligence service were obliged to live and act in accordance with the legalisation under which they were sent abroad. This applied not only during the time while they were abroad, but also in Czechoslovakia, both while stationed in the headquarters and in the legalised office. In communist Czechoslovakia, the legalised offices included mainly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the Czechoslovak News Agency, Čedok - travel agency, Czechoslovak Airlaines, Czechoslovak Radio, Czechoslovak Television, foreign trade enterprises (Omnipol, Petrimex) and the like.
